With over 37 years as a soccer coach, Tom is at the forefront of formal teaching techniques in the world of soccer.  Tom was Head Coach and Technical Director of the Eastern NY State Olympic Development Program from 1990 thru 2000.  Under his coaching expertise, he has developed 32 professional players (5 currently play in MLS) and 34 National Youth Team players.  In 1993, Tom was chosen the National High School Coach of the Year.  He has participated in the selection of Head and assistant Coaches for each Olympic Development Team.  He has produced over 16 soccer instructional videos currently being sold nationally.  Tom oversees the 10 Upstate and Downstate ODP selection of players and team formation (players are chosen from an available pool of over 90,000 players).  By analyzing the biomechanics of both offensive and defensive skills, Tom has created a training course that has greatly improved the performance of players.  Tom has made over 20 trips to The Netherlands where he studies the world’s most progressive Tactical Training Plans and Dutch positional play with coaches from the highest level in Holland.  His comprehensive  coaching techniques include performance enhancement, physical conditioning, think-ahead strategies, the 3 phases of the match, social culture, psychological resistance, Mocap and Dutch positional play to name a few.
